General care before surgery
Smoking negatively alters the arterial circulation of the skin. Patients who smoke have a high risk of presenting complications such as skin suffering and scarring problems. Ideally, the patient should not be a smoker and if he/she is a smoker, he/she should stop smoking at least two weeks before and two weeks after the surgery to reduce the risk of these complications. There are medications that increase the risk of bleeding such as some of these: Alka Seltzer, Aspirin, Warfarin, Ibuprofen, Dristan, Naproxen, Vitamin E or Ginkgo Biloba. You should notify your surgeon if you are taking any of these medications (or any other medications) before scheduling surgery.

WHY GET A RHINOPLASTY?
Dr. Baron completed a clinical fellowship in Istanbul, Turkey assisting Dr. Sureyya Seneldir, a world-renowned rhinoplasty surgeon and one of the best in structural rhinoplasty. During this period, he learned the use of instruments developed by Dr. Seneldir known as Magic Saw, which allow performing osteotomies (fractures in the nasal bones) that generate less bruising and less postoperative pain. During his nose surgeries, he also incorporates piezoelectric bone surgery, which is a process that uses piezoelectric vibrations in the application of bone tissue cutting, thus reducing soft tissue damage.
